If a parent is hospitalized in Morocco while you're in the U.S.

Get ward-level contact, identify a local family representative, and prepare a consular POA + emergency travel document if needed.

Get direct contact with the hospital's ward and attending doctor. Identify a Morocco-side family member or friend who can be physically present for decisions. If you need to make decisions from the U.S., a consulate-notarized power of attorney is the cleanest path. For urgent travel without a valid Moroccan passport, your consulate can issue an emergency travel document (laissez-passer) within days. For private-hospital costs, arrange payment before procedures via international transfer.
